Covid-19 Safety for in-person music classes:

9/1/22 - COVID SAFETY UPDATE

Hello musical families! The landscape of health and safety standards around Covid 19 is ever-changing and I will continue to do my best to keep with best practices as recommended by our public health officials. Heading into this new year of classes I have decided to make all classes MASK OPTIONAL. You and your child are of course welcome to wear a mask and in fact are highly encouraged to do so if you think you may have had any exposure to Covid (or any other nasty bug for that matter). Please be considerate of others and do not come to class if you or your child is experiencing symptoms of illness. Below are a few important reminders for everyone so that we can continue to meet safely with each other:

1. Please do not come to class if anyone in your family has tested positive for Covid OR if you or your child are exhibiting ANY cold or flu like symptoms. ***Follow CDC guidelines if you have been exposed or test positive: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/quarantine-isolation.html and please communicate with me so that I am in the loop of any potential class Covid exposures/outbreaks.

2. Please wash hands and/or hand sanitize upon arrival to class.

3. All classes are now mask optional. Do whatever feels best for your family.

4. Please bring your own instruments to play for the singalong portion of our class (any acoustic instruments are welcome). Communal rhythm Sticks, Shakers and Scarves will be provided and sanitized after class. Personal music kits will also be available for purchase. Bring cash, check or venmo to purchase during class. Kits will be $10 for current families. Individual shakers, scarves and sticks are also available for purchase.

5. I want to remind folks that there will be no refunds for missed classes. That being said, if we have to shut down classes temporarily due to my own health and/or community health concerns - I will extend the session in order to compensate for those missed classes. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if your family will need to miss multiple classes due to Covid or other family emergency - I will try my best provide make up classes on a case to case basis.

3/29/22 - COVID SAFETY UPDATE

Hello everyone! As we remain cautiously optimistic that Covid 19 numbers will continue to drop in our region I have decided to adjust my masking policy for my SOME of my classes. I know many of you are still feeling uneasy about not having vaccinated little ones so all my 9:30am classes will maintain the requirement for masks. My 10:15am class will be mask optional for those of you who would like a little more flexibility with masking. Of course if at any point during the next session Covid numbers begin to rise, we may have to go back to requiring masks in all classes. I will still be asking that folks wash or sanitize their hands upon arrival to class and all communal instruments will be sanitized after classes. Thanks for your flexibility and understanding.

PLEASE READ these important reminders:

1. Please do not come to class if your family has been in close contact with someone who has tested positive OR if you or your child are exhibiting ANY cold or flu like symptoms.

3. 9:30am classes are MASKS REQUIRED. Masks covering nose and mouth are required for all adults AND highly encouraged for littles over the age of 2. Even if your toddler isn't consistent with keeping a mask on, it is a great time to practice in a perfection free zone ;) (I will be the only unmasked adult. I am vaccinated and boosted) **Surgical masks or kN95s are highly recommended.**   10:15am - mask optional classes: Masks are encouraged but not required.

4. Please bring your own instruments to play for the singalong portion of our class (any acoustic instruments are welcome). Rhythm Sticks, Shakers and Scarves will also be available for purchase. Bring cash, check or venmo to purchase during class. Kits will be $10 for current families. Individual shakers, scarves and sticks are also available for purchase.

5. Please be mindful that not all families may share the same comfort level regarding social distance. When in question, read the room and ASK the other parent if your kiddo seems to be encroaching on their space. We will have plenty of room to spread out in the large sanctuary. **The sanctuary also has an updated air filtration system that will also be helping keep us safe**

6. I want to remind folks that there will be no refunds for missed classes. That being said, if we have to shut down classes temporarily due to my own health and/or too many families out - I will extend the session in order to compensate for those missed classes. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if your family will need to miss multiple classes due to Covid or other family emergency - I will try my best provide make up classes on a case to case basis.

Lastly, I am ever so grateful that of the many activities you could sign up for in town, that you have said YES to joining Little Sapling Music! It has been a really rough couple years for small businesses like mine and I am keenly aware (as a parent of a child in extracurriculars) that signing up for anything right now is a carefully and thoughtfully navigated choice. I am so excited to make music with your little ones again...please don't be surprised if I shed a tear or two upon seeing them dance, twirl or simply quietly observe from afar during our first couple classes. I sure have missed doing my most favorite job. Thank you for employing me :)

Hope to see you in an upcoming class!
